This piece was titled for me at time of publication – it is a few years old now.

My Native Son’s Search for Identity

The things I love to do usually involve my family.  So in many of my articles, I write about our adventures, great and small.

One of my sons is a longboarder, and so I sometimes write about this:

Caution: Our kids are in the Fast Lane, Concrete Wave, 100% Skateboarding , Vol 8, No. 4, Winter 2010, pp 62-67.

My son’s need for speed

Longboarding, A Parent’s Perspective.

Skateboarding For Beginners, from a Parent’s POV.

I also love camping… here is an article about our last trip (there will be many more articles on this very topic as camp every summer, and with each trip unfolds a new tale or two … or in this case a tail).

Camping with Wolves: Island Parent Magazine, Aug, 2010.

The Zen of Camping: The Motherhood Muse, issue 3. July, 2010.

Wild Camping in British Columbia with Kids

Packing it Right: Camp Preparations for the BC Family Vacation

and the trip before:

Extreme Camping: with the kids.

A few articles from Suite 101 on various topics:

Three Nature Walks in Vancouver, British Columbia

Assessment and Evaluation in School Report Cards
